I would vote for the Jewish candidate, of course! I would NEVER vote an atheist in. This is a country that is based on Jewish and Christian principals! I do not want somebody running our country who does not believe in anything higher than himself!

Excuse me, I don't understand the question. do you equate Jews and atheists? What possible connection is there?
If they are both well qualified and hold the same positions on issues it should make no difference. The only caveat is that an atheist has no eternal principles on which to base his ethics, therefore, if his "feelings" changed, so would his principles and his positions on issues. Therefore, I would chose the Jewish candidate, all other things being equal.
BTW, the Constitution created the President to be an administrator, not a king or dictator. The view of the presidency that is being promulgated by BigMedia, government-run public schools, and the political factions that call themselves "parties," is totally extra-constitutional.

Atheist because there wouldn't be a subtle indication of bias in international policy. Even if the jew wasn't pro-Israel, everyone would still see it as bias, which is a bad representation of our country. I'm not saying that someone jewish wouldn't make a good president, but if the two candidates were equal in everything else, I'd have to go with my concern over what others would see as potential bias.

Well assuming that they were well qualified and I agreed with their political views...also they would have to be honest (if that's possible)...then I would vote for the atheist because his beliefs would be similar to mine.

I would rather see an atheist president than anyone else. There is absolutely no room for ulterior motive there, spurred by religious belief. We might then have a true separation of church and state, which we are rapidly losing more and more each day. Government is controlled by religion nowadays.

If all other things were equal, the Jewish one..
I don't look at religion when I vote, I look at the platforms, but with the exact same platform, you gotta look at something.

Why would I vote purely on religious beliefs? Many presidents have professed certain beliefs and actions said otherwise.
I vote based on issues and their voting records.

I don't leave things like that up to the person's religion. I'd be willing, however, to dig up as much as i could on them. and i'd choose whoever was more qualified to run the country. if they matched up EXACTLY as you said in evry aspect except religion, i'd probably comment on the situation's weirdness and not vote.

It wouldn't matter to me what their religion, gender, sexual preference or race was. It doesn't even matter to me if they smoked pot once as a teenager!
If they are qualified to run the country and I liked how they presented themselves, then they'd get my vote.
