I think it's being hyped way too much. It is entirely possible that global warming is an entirely natural occurrence. Shortly after one study comes out saying humans are causing it, another one comes out saying it's a natural part of the planet's growth.
There's nothing wrong with regulating some of our actions, but there's no point in going overboard with it, forcing companies to spend millions of dollars to follow rules and guidelines that might not make a difference.
Moderated, reasoned approaches are needed.

Global warming is the observed increase in the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere and oceans in recent decades and the projected continuation of rising temperatures. Models referenced by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) predict that global temperatures are likely to increase by 1.1 to 6.4 °C (2.0 to 11.5 °F) between 1990 and 2100. The uncertainty in this range results from both differing future greenhouse gas emission scenarios and uncertainties regarding climate sensitivity.
Global average near-surface atmospheric temperature rose 0.6 ± 0.2 °Celsius (1.1 ± 0.4 °Fahrenheit) in the 20th century. The prevailing scientific opinion on climate change is that "most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations," which leads to warming of the surface and lower atmosphere by increasing the greenhouse effect. Greenhouse gases are released by activities such as the burning of fossil fuels, land clearing, and agriculture. Other phenomena such as solar variation have had smaller but non-negligible effects on global temperature trends since 1950.

We are still in the last ice age. Global warming is a natural occurence at the end of an ice age. We humans are indeed arrogant creatures to think we can or even should change the cycles of the earth to benefit us.

Most of us think that it is outside our circle of focus and also outside our circle of influence. It, however, remains continuously present, inside our circle of concern, like many other concerns, about which we cannot really do, anything very much, directly, except perhaps, "remaining circumspect for our own best interest."

Global Warming IS happening.
However, it has been happening since the end of the last ice age - regardless of the propaganda that Al Gore is spewing out.

Well, we could just set back and wait to see. I mean, what's the harm in waiting until it's too late to do anything about it?
Here's something to watch:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrrsRW3dd8M&mode=related&search=
Just about EVERY scientist who isn't on Exxon-Mobile payroll agrees that humans have a significant effect on global temperature and we CAN and SHOULD do something about it.
These scientists are a lot smarter than any of us so I think we should listen to them. READ:

You who bought into Exxon's propaganda will rue the day.
