He'll ask for more. Ya, don't ya love it? My pastor used to tell us we should give off the gross and not the net. So we're supposed to tithe on our taxes, on money we are giving to the government?

You don't tithe to the pastor, you give it to God..
And yes, if indeed you are a trillionaire, you should give 10%.
The pastor does not use the money for his own sake, it is used to keep the church going, helping others in need, vacation bible school, pay bills for the church....
When you give, you are obeying God.....

You can tithe (give 10%) to any charitable cause. I would research this well and make sure that 100% of your dollar is spent on the mission of the charity and NOT on administrative costs to operate the agency. You don't have to give 10% to your church, unless it is the only charitable cause you support. Even then, you can earmark those funds for a particular project (i.e. to build a school for the church).

My church does not require any money. I have a non-resident Pastor out of Texas. He was Pastor of Berachah church for over 50 years and never asked for a dime. He actually got disinherited by his parents for his belief in Jesus. I can order any of the cassette,DVDs,Mp3s or books for free.
His glory will be in heaven.
Peace out.

if you are a trillionaire then you should tithe at least 10% in the name of the Lord. it doesn't have to go to just one place (church/minister). with that kind of money you could help out in many areas.

I wouldn't say you'd have to give it "to your pastor". But you do need to give back to society. If you had that much at your disposal you should try to make your little corner of the world a better place for everyone you can.

I have a religious relative (the one black sheep in the family) whose pastor lives in a $750,000 home and just bought himself a brand new Harley. In answer - yes. give, give, give so that your pastor can escape the rut of his upper middle class existence.

I'm a "Christian" and I give very little to an organized church. If you believe in what your church and pastor are doing, sure; but if you (like me) have some difficulty going along with your church, find a charity you can believe in (or several) to give to.

why dont you invest some of it in some common sense, and then spend the rest going on mission Trips to spread the word.

besides, the Pastor doesnt want the 10%, Jesus wants it to be used to spread HIS word.

If you're a trillionaire, 10% is the least you could do.
