Do you feed her by herself? Hold her in your lap or let her sit in a high chair near the table when everyone else is eating? Your meal may get more interruptions this way, but it teaches your child to eat what you are eating. I use to give my little ones bits of food from my plate. A green bean, cooked carrot, bites of stuffing, anything that is soft and easy to chew. If you can smash it between your fingers it is okay for her to try. Any sign of choking and back off of that food for a while. Once they get a good taste of 'big people food' they usually don't want the baby food anymore. I would think that by 18 months she should be eating mostly solids from the table, but check with your child's pediatrician to see. At meal times I would try a sampling of whatever you are eating and then bring out the jar food when she has tried some big food first. Gradually, she will start eating more from the table.

My daughter just turned 3 months over the weekend and she is still eating every 2 hours during the day and just recently she started sleeping more at night...but I still get up with her once - sometimes twice - during the night. I think it's okay for the age that they are at though. They are growing so much that they need the food. Somethings that I have read that could help are: -Wake baby before you turn in and feed...even if she is 1/2 a sleep b/c it will help fill her tummy and maybe give you some sleeping room. -Supplement with formula in the evening as long as your milk supply is okay. Someone once told me that things like this are just phases. So, although it may be hard, don't worry...it will not always be like this. Next week things could be different! I wouldn't rush into solids, but talk to her Dr about the cereal. It's what you would start with anyways...although the 1st instances of it are supposed to be for "fun". Good luck and hang in there!

Its ok, but you should really try table foods. Start with some mushy ones, like soups are great, oatmeal, pancakes, grilled cheese, etc.... some kids are stubborn though, I had to practically starve my son into submission to eat solids.

i'm sure it fine. my daughter gave up baby food around 12 months. just keep introducing her to solid foods (they probably look and feel strange to her) but after a while she'll like those too. bananas are a good starter food, because it doesn't take much to make them mushy in your mouth.

well...in order to get proper nutrition, i'd say sure. i mean, she needs lots of fruits and veggies. it's not like you can just give her a salad.
