As a law enforcement, if a needle in a pocket stings while frisking a suspect, be sufficent to infect with the virus, considering it had wet blood on it still ?

Surprisingly, fairly low. It's less than 1% for HIV, about 10% for Hep C, but closer to 30% for Heb B.

With needlestick injuries, there blood is not expelled from the needle, and therefore, there really isn't much transfer.

The risk is much higher for IV drug users though. This is because they tend to "backwash" into the needle. After inserting the needle into their arm, they pull up on the plunger and draw blood into the needle. Since they're not trained in drawing blood, this assures them they have indeed entered the vein, and will not be expelling the drug into muscle. Obviously, this seriously increases the risk for the next person who expels the contents into their arm.

However, even though the risk is small, the consquences are large. If you are in law enforcement, they have policies for these incidences. You will need to be tested, and the individual in question can often be legal required to be tested.

Yes, that's why a lot of police officers wear gloves that are resistant to needle sticks when frisking suspects and doing searches of cars and homes.

If by "sting" you mean break the skin, then yes. Any dirty needle stick puts you at risk, not only for HIV but for Hepatitis as well.

yes. HIV is a very resistant virus. The slightest contact with it will infect the person right awway

the purely way that HIV/AIDS or the different STD might want to correctly be transmitted is through touching genitalia, or by having sex. also, merely because the female who gave you a lap dance worked at a strip club, does no longer advise she has a STD.

Probably, but it will be a good six months of testing to know for sure.
