If youre a doctor I would think you would know that in some cultures and religions, people believe that God is responsible for everything that happens. The point is you saved a life, and that's what you chose to get paid to do. So, lucky you....you have the capabilities to save a life...which should make you feel good...and you get paid to do it. I would feel happy I was able to obtain and retain the intelligence to become a doctor, and that I was able to do something to help others, I wouldn't need to hear a thank you. I would feel good inside, and very proud.

Like hell, but that is what some people expect of the medical profession. I believe that people who are more educated realize what it takes to become a doctor and what it is like to work overtime on your day off. You have to write off the people that didn't thank you hoping that God or whomever will give them more wisdom.

Grateful that I'd been blessed with the talent to be the doctor, honored that God had chosen me to save the man's life and humbled that he would grant me the strength and stamina and clarity of mind to keep him with his family.

If I were selfish, I'd be offended. But as a believer, I'd agree that God did the work not me.

Who'd this happen to? You?

Most Christians I believe would also thank the doc.

So which of the two laughs all the way to the bank, the doctor who dealt with the malady, or God who gets all the credit?

I would feel like I had saved yet another of God's children to go tell others about Him for a while longer.

If that would be the case, it would not be me who saved the mans life it would be God. Doctors don't hold life and death in their hands, God does.

I wouldn't care.

First, I believe in God, too. But more importantly...

While they would be thanking God, the insurance company would still be writing ME a check.

Thank you God!

Totally indifferent. If the medical profesion is a vocation why would you worry about people's gratitude-you would have done what was right and that is the important thing.

I would think that as a doctor you are just doing your job, but I guess it depends on how religious you youself are. I might be a little miffed though.
