Well considering that it uses about 400MB of your RAM, it's ok. Not as many bugs as XP but it's ok. But I hate the fact that it uses SO MUCH RAM!

Ummmm... Better? Not particularly.... XP runs pretty well and does a lot of things without the crashes inherent in 98, but VISTA isn't so much "better", as it is the OS of the future. It's architecture will make it attractive to program builders and it should (once the bugs get shaken out) be as far ahead of XP as XP was of WIN98. The differences aren't "bells and whistles" but reliability, compatibility and security. Right now VISTA is a little shaky on the security aspect, but that will get fixed in a short time and then we'll wonder how we managed without it.

One thing, DO read the system requirements for VISTA.... your old 486 just ain't a-gonna cut it no more. Time for a new box with some guts. Also, when looking at the different types of Vista, remember that there's only architecture differecnces between VIST Home and XP Pro.... for performance differences to start to show, you'll need the hi-powered VISTA versions.

I'm looking forward to what will get built to go with it.... this should be an interesting period.

I see a big difference between Vista and XP. So far I like Vista better. The live search feature is great. There are so many new features that I am discovering on a daily basis. I found it more economical to buy a new computer with Vista Home Premium already installed. My old PC is 6 years old and is good for backups.

I install the rc2 version for some days and windows vista ultimate for 2 weeks.

Better than XP ? YESSSS

But from my point of view Vista is a immature operating system and need time to be ready. Wait for the Service Pack 1 or some majors bug solved and for software to be ready for vista.

I re-install Windows XP SP2 after 2 weeks. And i'm falling in love with vista, but some of my software and hardware don't work.

Yes I've tried it and it's better than XP. The graphics are better, and the video resolution is magnificent. Also the security is phenomenal. I'm assuming you have Xp right now. My advice to you is not to rush to get Vista, but to actually wait a little while. Wait until you can't wait for Vista any longer or you are buying a new computer.

It isn't a good idea to buy it yet. I would wait till the first service pack though.
