I'm sorry if this comes off as rude at all, but if $100 is your capping fee, a bird is not the pet for you. Especially medium sized birds, they will not be found for under $100. Consider everything else the bird will need and how much you'll have to pay for all that.
To run a quick skim: $100+ for bird, $100 to $2,000 for decent cage (starter sets = TERRIBLE and can injure or harm birds more than protect), $50 to $80 for avian vet check up + whatever medications and treatment needed ($5 to $200), $100 for food per 6 month range, $2 to $50 per single toy, $5 to $50 per single perch.
Also, the less expensive birds are usually in rescues. Not only is a rescue/shelter bird usually an adult (and don't worry because all parrots can live anywhere from 20 to 50 to 100 years) and past the grief of sexual maturity and the "terrible twos", but they have a set personality and disposition. They're typically tamed by the rescue or foster home and can give exact care instructions so you 1) won't have to waste money on trying new foods or different toys - you'll know what the bird likes, 2) can care for the bird the way it's used to, making the transition easier. Besides, there are many irresponsible breeders who will not provide proper care to their birds, have no idea what they're doing, and maybe inbreed. It's not worth the risk of paying for and taking in a sick bird with possible health and personality/behavioural issues. Large chain pet stores are the same.
You can try http://www.petfinder.com and see if you have any luck there, but a great rescue I recommend to everyone is http://www.mickaboo.com Good luck.

No, that's a parasitical birds egg. Cuckoos do this. Cowbirds do this, nonetheless they unload the unique eggs. A parasitical chook lays eggs in yet another style birds nest and the the chook who's nest it relatively is will develop the parasites youthful. some species will wait till hatching to offload the unique eggs, or kill the unique nestlings,. bypass to appropriate ten and ask chook female for an identity of the egg. i think of Indigo is nice. I purely have been given an identity at " Cow chook egg " in my handle bar and it feels like a tournament. This seems a version on customary Cow chook dumping habit, nonetheless.

med size birds are generally more expensive than $100. cockatiels can be a good choice for that price range. please remember you need a cage, food and water bowls, plenty of toys and also food. i have come across breeders with conures around $100, conures are very active and fun to watch they are very playful. good luck

Very good to hear that. You should goto some bird's hospital to find one. 100$ is a huge amount... you may get one for as high as 20$.

Generaly cockatiels and sometimes finches are around that ammount. IF you buy a parakeet though, where I like they are around $30.00. Also, breeders might sell for less, if you look them up.

I recommend that you research not just what bird you can get for $100, but how much it will cost you to house, (bird cage), entertain, (toys), and feed, (nutritious bird food), your new feathered friend.
