Ed means enhanced definition you get less pixels & color. With a full plasma you get around 1.9 million colors and ..Visit best buy ,believe you see will the difference! I did I choose plasma

ED Plasma is " Enhanced Definition ", not true high definition, therefore not the resolution of HD. The reg. plasma likely has HD capability, which is the better of the two.

EDTV specifies it is 852 x 480
Regular could be ED or HD (up to 1920x1080)
