Following "the dudes" idea, poly-syllabic words to weed out the mouth-breathers :)

I asked this the other day, but not one Christian answered the question that I asked.

If homosexuality is a matter of a lifestyle "choice" - then why have I never had to struggle to be attracted to the oppostite sex? I don't make any kind of decision at all! So how is it a "choice" when I'm not deciding anything?

It's not, your right. It just has become a "politically correct" positioning for something that..... well you see, I can't easily state my view without "offending" .

The fact is that a heterosexual paradigm has more to do with the SURVIVAL of the species, that volition. The whole purpose of the sexual act is in the direction of procreation. It is pleasurable in itself because it is ultimately a key survival activity. The dynamic of sex, and creating a family, a future.. this is an urge towards survival.

Without judgement or offence intended, if you just look at it straight (no pun intended) what else is it for. To not be heterosexual is to pervert the purpose of that particular dynamic of life.

The causes of this perversion cannot in fact be under the individual's volitional control , otherwise the natural survival urge would just be there. This applies to any perversion in the area of sex. Promiscuity also, just homosexuality. Calling it a "choice" in this case doesn't change it's non survival aspect it simple positions it so it is more comfortable for the person.

We all do this in lots of areas of life, not just "sexual preference", to justify non survival activity in an attempt to feel more comfortable with ourselves and others.

This isn't about religious do's and don'ts so much as it is about life and the conditions of existence.
The religious do's and don'ts are really just someone's attempt to keep us on a survival path. The key is to understand what undermines our survival drives or urges and deal with that. Force with DO's and DON'T's is not really the answer, obviously. Since it doesn't work and makes many people uncomfortable and ostracized.

Your question implies that heterosexuals choose to be heterosexual, which is complete nonsense. Everybody is born heterosexual. That is why you have parents. You choose to be attracted to the same sex. You only think you don't. You are reacting against the weaknesses of your parents. Possibly they should never have had children. I have a gay uncle and he too is convinced that he was always gay. I believe that people with extremely strange heterosexual parents produce gay children. Homosexuality might be God's way of saying "not everyone should have children". So if I was being gay, I would ask myself whether God wants me to be gay or to contemplate whether my parents are complete heterosexual freaks. If your parents were heterosexual freaks, you kind of were predispositioned towards homosexuality, like the children of the mentally ill or alcoholics or any other disease. Being gay was never a social disease until Christian fascists made it so. It is just an ordinary phenomenon like fascism or cancer. The fact that being gay has tremendous social and health risks should make you wonder why God would create anyone gay. Why would God create anyone straight given man's tendency towards fascism? I think homosexuality is a form of mental illness like Catholic who believe they need to pray to the Virgin Mary. You inherit this weakness from your parents who contribute to your sexuality and religious faith. If you are ever going to stop being gay, it is going to be a choice that makes you stop, which means that you are going back to your original state, "heterosexuality". Nobody is gay until adolescence. Everybody is straight first. There is no sex in childhood, so you can't claim to have been gay from birth. What do you have against mouth-breathers?

It is by God's design.

Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

cleave unto his wife....

Meriam-Webster:
1 a dialect : WOMAN b : a woman acting in a specified capacity -- used in combination
2 : a female partner in a marriage

I have no commitment to respond to any particular question and am selective of the questions I respond to.

youll be lucky if any christian answers, or gives a decent answer, as ive said before, in the 1900s christians persecuted women, the 1950s blacks, and now its gays and non christians, they wont stop until thier religion is gone. Christianity the religion and relationship breeds hatred, intolerance and ignorace, people are born to like who they like and love who they love, but christians cant understand that.

I agree about the "it isn't a choice" part.. But in their defense, are you making a choice not to steal something? No, because you don't think about it.

You may have discovered that the R&S sexshun ... errr ... section is already divided among two distinct groups. Those who are attracted to intellectual questions and those who are not.

And no, I didn't choose to be gay, and no one except self-acknowledged bisexuals choose to be straight.

Apparently fundamentalist Christians frequently have to choose to be straight.

I wonder what that means.
