Noah was 600 yrs old when he built the ark....

Man prior to the flood (plants, animals, man) all lived much longer than we do today. This was due to the ice/water shield that was around the earth at that time. The ice/water shield protected the earth from the harmful rays of the sun as water is a filter.

When you encase the earth in a shield of ice/water, this will create a greater air pressure on earth compared to today. So since the pressure is higher, the oxygen content is higher/richer.

So just like we see today when we put plants in a oxygen chamber and put it under pressure....the plants grow fast, big and tall.

This explains the giants back then, this explains how Noah and others lived a long time and this explains dinosaurs as well. Cause a dinosaur is nothing more than a reptile...and they never stop growing during their entire life. So if a reptile never stops growing, is under pressure and with excessive amounts of oxygen...what happens? It grows real big...just as we see from the fossils. This is also proven again when you look at the nostrils of a dinosaur...they are no bigger than a horses yet the dinosaur is 20 times the size. The air has to be richer in oxygen for such a large animal to breath thru such small nostrils.

This ice/water shield is where God made it rain for Noah's flood. Water came down and from up from the earth.

Google video or YouTube "kent hovind" and watch his 7 part series, he really explains it well in laymen terms.

And its not that we have done something wrong....but man/animal back then did something wrong. Its why God flooded the earth...he was ashamed at what he had made and wanted to wipe it away and start again...hence the flood.

The oldest living person recorded in the bible was Methuselah who lived to be 969 years, eight generations from Adam. It was after the death of Noah who lived to be 950 years, that human lifespans were shortened. Approximately 1,500 years later Moses lived and he died at the grand old age of 120 years, as is noted in De 34:5-7. In Psalm 90:10 (which has been credited to be written by Moses) it mentions that 70-80 years was an average lifespan. That is about the average age most persons live today.
Why man cannot live at least to 500 years old, one can only speculate. Maybe because we are so far removed from perfection or because God has set a limit, I don't know.

--Good question!

--Indeed they were much nearer to perfection than we are today!

--So just as if you have a mold for a clay vase, and it has an imperfection or a crack in it, that mold after being fired in a kiln for thousands of times, will indeed get weaker--this is the similarity with us!

Note a commentary:
*** it-2 p. 252 Life Span ***

During the Patriarchal Period. During the pre-Flood period, the life span approached a thousand years. (Ge 5:5-29) The people closer to man’s original perfection enjoyed greater longevity than those farther removed from it. The longest life on record is that of Methuselah, who lived 969 years. After the Flood, the human life span dropped rapidly.

Some have theorized that the year in the times before the Flood was just a month long. However, there is no Scriptural basis for this view. Had the year been a 30-day month, this would mean that Enosh would have become a father before he was eight years old, and others, such as Kenan, Mahalalel, Jared, and Enoch, would have fathered children before they were six years old. (Ge 5:9, 12, 15, 18, 21) A comparison of Genesis 7:11 with Genesis 8:3, 4 shows that 150 days amounted to five months. The fact that the Bible also mentions the 10th month and, subsequently, one 40-day period and at least two 7-day time periods as passing during this year, indicates the year was 12 months long.—Ge 8:5, 6, 10, 12-14.

Since Moses’ Time. About 3,500 years ago Moses wrote concerning the life span: “In themselves the days of our years are seventy years; and if because of special mightiness they are eighty years, yet their insistence is on trouble and hurtful things.” (Ps 90:10) The situation in this regard has not changed substantially.

--As noted above the Bible DISTINGUISES very clearly between hours , days, weeks, months , etc!---

Please note of the probability, not being totally impossible:

*** g77 2/22 p. 27 Did Men Once Live for Hundreds of Years? ***

The Encyclopædia Britannica (1976 edition, Macropædia, Vol. 10, p. 911) states: “The exact duration of human life is unknown, although there is presumably a maximum life-span for the human race established in the genetic material. At first thought, this statement seems irrational. Surely no human being can live 1,000 years. Even though all may agree that the likelihood of an individual living 1,000 years is infinitesimal, there is no scientific proof that this statement is or is not true.”

Possibly, God simply determined that the longer pre-Flood life spans only multiplied the evil men can do (see Genesis 6:3-7, 11-13) and that about 70-120 years is long enough for a person to fulfill his purpose. Those who are called can prepare in that length of time to receive immortality at the return of Christ. Those not yet called can learn that the ways of man do not bring satisfaction or fulfillment. Thus, when they arise in the second resurrection, they will be prepared to choose God's way.

Humans could live up to 969 years, (Methuselah, Genesis 5:27) before the Noah's flood, but after that God reduced it to 120 years when He saw the mankind was being to turn towards evil. "Then God said, "I'm not going to breathe life into men and women endlessly. Eventually they're going to die; from now on they can expect a life span of 120 years." Genesis 6:3 The Message.

1. The human race was more genetically pure in this early time period, so there was less disease to shorten life spans.
2. No rain had yet fallen on the earth, and the expanse of water above kept out harmful cosmic rays and shielded people from environmental factors that hasten aging.
3. God gave people longer lives so they would have time to "fill the earth."

The bible is not a reliable source of information. There is no evidence that anyone has ever lived 500 years or more. It's a fairy tale.

I don't believe in the bible, but if you think logically you can see that their usage of yrs of age has to be different then ours. for example, They could have used the beginning of spring till the end of spring to count as a whole yr or only 100 days to equal a yr. They didn't use our modern day calendar back then, really when they say they lived to be 500 or more, it probably only equals to about 50-70 our yrs.

the earth was a perfect place to live for us. but when they left the garden of eden they became weaker, but God protected them because they were still his people, and as time passed there was bacteria and viruses that could kill us.
(And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years) the oldest in the bible
And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:
([22] And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
[23] And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
[24] And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.)
the only son of man that went to heaven without death
jesus the son of God also went to heaven without death as the bible says he arose the third day. and as you read on it says he ascended up to heaven.
