I never get asked out, and my male friends have told me that they think it's because i'm intimidating and they were all intimidated by me when they first met me. I don't get it..I mean I'm shy but that is nuts, I rarely have guys speaking to me.
I'm athletic (hockey goalie both guys and girls), smart, i'm approachable and i've been told I have a great sense of humor...I'm 5'3 so I don't get it...how am I intimidating?
And no, I'm not some obese chick

I'd like to add that I do try and start conversations with people, they just kinda don't go places. I smile at everyone and whenever I talk, I always make eyecontact and offer a smile up.

You have the full package athletic, smart and funny. That would intimidate anyone. I have the same problem. What you need is a guy who has a strong personality and is confidant in who he is. There are a lot of insecure guys out there and in any event you would not want to waste any time on them. Just continue to be yourself and if you are shy you will eventually grow out of that with more experiences that you have. I had a sorta guy friend tell me once that he didnt want to have sex with me because I was too intimidating. Dating older guys is usually the way to go. I know personally the older guys in their late 20s and early 30s tend to ask me out. As for the guys my age (24) they think I am too much. DONT tone down who you are! There are plenty of guys out there looking for girls like you. There is nothing wrong with you its just a matter of waiting for the guys to grow up. I hope this helped a bit. I just wanted you to know i have the same problem and I always think its my fault. Learn to respect you and others will admire it.

Some times ppl think a shy person is arrogant and so on....due that reason they feel its hard to approach such a person.
U sound like an attractive girl all u need to do is smile more often say hi and let ppl into the shell that u have around u.
Always remember no 1 is above or below u so ...dont be afraid to break the ice..

I have the same problem. To me what they call "intimidating" is a woman who is independant, self sufficient, intelligent, sure of herself and her abilities, agressive when they want something...good at everything she does and someone who is not afraid of speaking her mind. It sounds weird but some guys can't cope with that. They believe girls to be shy and humble and quiet I guess...don't change. Just be yourself and you will find someone who will appreciate you. Some guys may not find you approachable, but to others you will be a challenge they'll be willing to take on. Good luck!

I have the same problem and have been told its how I carry myself...the presentation...the confidence we project and the knowing what we want and where we're going, also knowing what we will put up with from others....that can be pretty intimidating to men (as well as other women)
It's not a bad thing...the right man will respect you because of it

You don't act open. You don't look around, you don't look at the guys, you don't look in their eyes, and you don't move much. In short you act like your taken, not single. So guys avoid you.
Your also quite attractive too(if that is a pic of you). So that is gonna stop a lot of guys too. I'd never come anywhere near you, for example(though you'd think I'm ugly anyway..so no loss).
And you have guy friends. When a guy sees a girl with lost of guy friends he will say to himself-1.she could be sleeping with them and/or 2.one of them may be her boyfriend/husband.

You're pretty too.. if that is you! I don't know why... just let them come up to you. You will find a person. Just meet more and more people everyday. Find out their interest and if they match your interest.

My 14 year old son wants to legally change his name from Karl to "Cash-Money God". I don't understand the meaning behind it, we are well off but still. I understand why, I changed my name a few years ago to Super-King but thats awesome and bada s s. Should I let him do as he wants?
