For me personally, yes, science as a whole casts serious doubts on my beliefs of an existence of God (Christian God). I love science, I am even studying it in university, but I also love my faith. I made the choice to love my faith more than I love science, so even now, as I am flooded with "proof" of things occuring in a different way than has been described in the Bible, I've made the decision to be a skeptic during my classes. I know that just because things are accepted as truth, doesn't mean that scientists know everything, and I'll also read the Bible with an open mind and hope to find a way that science and religion can live at peace in my life, and not constantly refute each other.
So, sure, science casts doubts on matters of faith. That is normal. If there was nothing to doubt, there would be no faith. I made the choice that faith was something I wanted to hold on to for the rest of my life. Whether I get bombarded with proof that God did not exist or not - I decided that it's something I WANT to believe in, so I'll continue doing so. :)
I'm not sure what emotional issues you're referring to, but the reason why God does not change is because there is no need to change. In the Christian faith, God is seen as being perfect. He is the maker of all things - and therefore, he doesn't make any mistakes that he needs to learn from.
I don't have all the answers (and I never really will), so I hope that was adequate enough for you!

There is a belief in the bible that it is inspired by the hand of god and there for never wrong. Well this is obviously absurd. There are many, many things in there that just do not make any sense today. So if you believe that the bible is exactly right, then yes science does cast doubt on the bible. But if you take the bible as a road map. An idea on how to live and what to believe, I think they can exist together.

It casts doubt on literal definitions of th bible and creationism. However, more recent research involving creating something out of basically nothing and looking for the god particle may support the existance of a god (or gods).

It casts no doubt on a naturalistic God, such as the God of Whitehead's process metaphysics.

Science has nothing to say about the general idea. It has however found errors in the Bible and any other religious texts that told how the universe was created.

it casts doubt on the literal interpretation of the Bible (Adam and eve). Astronomy also SUGGESTS that we aren't at the center of the universe, but just one species on one planet--takes away from our centrality.
