why do people care how long it took the spirit of God to influence nature to make us creatures?

people want to know who, what where when and why they are here. Humans are naturally curious creatures.

I have always wondered the same thing. I know how long it took as God tells us how long it was or approximately anyway. He took the dust of the ground and formed the body, then breathed into its nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul. Whether that time frame was 5 minutes or an hour, who really cares? The thing is He made us creatures that were to be above all other creatures on the Earth. So why it is that most don't really act like it?
