No. When my children were growing up, to catch their attention after telling them for the third time to clean up their toys, I put the toys in boxes and stored them in the attic. After a week or so of picking up when told to, the toys were returned.
I'm not going to stomp on or throw away something the family or I spent money on.

One time my mom destroyed a poster on my bedroom wall because she was really upset at my sister and I fighting all the time. Something else must have been bothering my mom because she was usually sweet and loving but I probably didn't get it at the time cause I was just a kid. Now I know little things might trigger parent's negative reactions but as parents we don't tell our kids about other problems such as economy, business, spousal relationships, etc. And for that very reason, as parents we must think 2, 3, 4, 5 times before over-reacting with our little ones.

UGH....I cringe at this memory....and it's a two-parter....first part, yes...my mother had a fit once when I didn't clean my room, or something, and threw away a brandnew toy that I had barely played with.....
In later years (and this is the part that haunts me most) my little boy did something, and I broke his favorite green power ranger. I regret what I did to this day, even though I ended up replacing his precious toy....the image I must've created for him.
I was a very young mother.....I wish I would've known then what I know now....

No, but I felt like stomping and destroying my kids toys. I didnt do that, but I did box them up and put them in the attic...
Why do you ask...for them not picking them up when I asked them to.

Every year, all the toys that I didn't play with on a regular basis, got thrown into the garbage.

My parents never did, but as a parent I have destroyed CD's that were extremely nasty that I caught them listening to.

No parents with self control and level heads put them away or give them to other children who might enjoy them.
