Starving yourself is honestly one of the worst ways to lose weight. Your body realizes what you are doing and when you do eat, your body will fully store all the calories you have eaten to get as much energy as possible. Plus the weight you do lose comes from the muscle that the body is breaking down to use as energy, not fat.
You're best off eating the minimal 1200-1300 calories a day (if you're a girl) or 1500-1600 a day (if you're a guy) so your body can maintain basic metabolism. Otherwise your metabolism will slow down, and that's even worse for you.
A pound of fat is 3500 calories. Don't think that starving yourself for 2 days and eating an apple the next day and repeating this will help you.
Just eat healthily and exercise and aim to lose 2lbs a week ideally. And the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn!

Not eating slows down your metabolism- you body starts to panic-store any calories and fat it gets. It will hoard whatever you eat.
Honestly- you'd be better with a regular 4 small meals a day to the value of 1200-1500 calories. This will tell your body it is getting regular meals and it will keep up a good metabolic rate. 1200 calories is not a starvation diet but is reduced enough to allow you to lose weight.
There are documented cases of people starving themselves fat. My advice- quit playing silly games with your body and diet sensibly. That way the weight stays off. Aim for 1-2lb weight loss a week. Stop when your BMI is 21. An ideal range is 21-25.
Crash dieting makes you look like a skeletal freak, your skin goes manky, your hair loses it shine and you look like crap. Your periods can stop and you can grow body hair as you mess up your hormones. Too thin and the loss of subcutenous fat on your fat causes premature aging. That is definitely NOT attractiveGo too far, and your organs begin shutting down. You'll have trouble pulling a plug, never mind a bloke. However, if you want to look like a fuzzy, spotty, lanky-haired bag of bones, keep on your current diet.
I've lost two stones in weight sensibly and it's stayed off.

When you don't eat, your body goes into *starvation mode* and it stores your fat and calories because it thinks it is going to have to live without food for awhile. You really should eat four or five teeny tiny meals a day. Such as:
1/2-1 cup of bran cereal with 1/2-1 cup of milk
or
1 banana (fresh)
or
1 cup of fat free yogurt
or
1/3 can of tuna with 1 slice of bread
or
a little bag of carrots and celery and broccoli mixed (fresh)
Just little things like that to keep your from going into starvation mode and to keep your metabolism all revved up so you burn off ALL those nasty calories. YES, eating actually burns calories.
Also you should drink LOTS of water 64ounces-1 gallon a day (more if you want).
and if you can exercise, then do about 30 minutes-1 hour a day of exercise.
Be healthy hunny. If you don't eat then your body will shut down and you'll be spending a few days in the hospital with an i.v. drip. That's not fun!!
Cheers

I do not think you are dieting in a healthy way. An apple after two days of no eating is excessive hard work upon your organism.
500 hundred calories is not enough to sustain you on a daily basis,. At sometime you'll be overcome by fatigue and lack of needed nutrients our system needs to function well.
If I were you, I'd consult a dietician or doctor and follow a regimen of healthy dieting - so that you function well and balanced while attempting to lose weight.
Don't undermine your own health.

No. 500 calories a day is not enough to survive. Depending on your height and weight, the body needs at least 1200-1500 calories a day just for basic metabolic functions. Stop starving yourself, it's not healthy.

By not eating anything, you are putting your body in starvation mode. That means the body, in order to protect itself, will store all of your future calories as fat for later usage as energy. Your metabolism will slow down tremendously. Even the healthy food you eat will be processed as fat, not as nutrients.
So to answer your question, you will gain weight. A LOT of it.

500 calories will probably be burnt over the course of one day's activity (you will actually need far more than just those 500)
But I wouldn't suggest self-starvation as a path to weight loss.

Nope..
You need at least 10 calories daily to maintain each pound of
your current body weight...
If you weigh 100 lbs, you need to eat 1000 calories daily to
maintain that weight, any less and you lose weight...
You must "deficit" 3500 calories to lose 1 lb. of body weight

When you don't eat all you're doing it turning your muscles in to mush and your slowing your metabolism down.....so yes when you start eating again you will gain weight easy because you have basically stopped your metabolism. Eat! Exercise! and drink water!

Your body will save every single calorie it takes in because since you deprieved it will keep all calories for survival mode.
