Your BMR (metabolism) can be calculated using the calculator below.

Your heart rate can be measured by taking your pulse and counting the number of beats in one minute (use your watch or clock). To be in the fat burning zone, you need to be at 60% or higher of your max heart rate (MHR = 220 - age). The 2nd link below explains more on heart rate training. Good luck!

For heart rate isn't it putting your hand on your wrist or necks size and count how many beeps you hear per min?
