Pope Benedict XVI is AWESOME!!!! I still can't believe that a month after John Paul II's death, he started the beatification process. I am Polish and am very grateful for this.
He is also a very good theologian. He has a profound knowledge of the church.
Does he hate Muslims? No! He quoted from the work of some historian, and his words were turned around and used against him.
God blessed us greatly, giving us Joseph Ratzinger as Pope Benedict XVI. Unfortunately, we're humans, and we tend to let good things go unnoticed.

I think that Pope Benedict XVI is doing an okay job. Lately however the Vatican has let a rumor run amok that caused a great sensation in all the Catholic world and that was defining that the Universal Mass, that of Tridentine Mass in particulary 'be allowed'. I was sort of excited about that. But, alas! Nothing has come to fruition as of yet.

My sister calls BXVI "My German Shepard". She LOVES the guy. Has read all of his books, as he is a theologian prior to accepting position as Head of the CDF office and of course the Papacy.

However I do have some concerns with some of the things he says, they appear contrary to what is known, believed now and for always. But does that not mean that I don't honor and love the office of the Papacy? No. I can disagree with the Pope on anything I wish as long as it does not go against Faith and Morals.

I pray for the Pope daily. He sure needs it. In regards to those ignorant folks that say that BXVI is a "Nazi" or a "Islam hater",

Nazi:

"This one is almost too ridiculous to address. But since the ridiculous is no disqualifier for some, we must answer it. The charge stems from the pope's childhood in Nazi Germany. At the time, membership in the Hitler Youth was mandatory for young men. And so, against his wishes, he was enrolled.

By all counts, he was a very unenthusiastic memberindeed, his family had been outspoken in their opposition to Nazism, to the point where they actually had to move to a different town out of safety concerns.

When the pope turned 16, he was drafted into the German army to serve with an anti-aircraft unit. He never saw combat and subsequently deserted (an action that would have meant summary execution had he been caught).

And that's the sum total of his involvement with the Third Reich. Does this constitute a "dark past"?"

Islamic "hater":
The lecture was given to a small group of people and he quoted a very viable and real source, the "Prophet" Muhammed himself, but people don't like the truth. and so he's now labelled a Muslim hater. How does that work? People really need to get lives.

I will be in Italy in a few months. I hope you keep the sun rays going and no rain while there, so you have tons of work to do!!

Ciao Bella!!

Well, I think he has a big challenge. Pope John Paul II was the first pope who started visiting many countries. He loved youth because they are the light of the world. He spoke many languages and he was polish. I am proud that I am Polish.
I have been on pilgrimage in Cracow once. The Mass was celebrated by Benedetto XVI. It was awsome. I like hiom very much although i miss our polish Pope. I love the fact that Benedetto likes Poland very much.
Kisses from Poland.

Because today's relativism has influenced Christianity so much it may seem miraculous that a religious leader could inspire great enthusiasm in the masses. But that is one of the contradictions so common to our postmodern world.........In the future a religious leader is prophesied to arise who will receive the supernatural power to perform real miracles for the purpose of manipulating the entire population of the world. Revelation 13 describes him as one of two powerful leaders over a world dominating political-religious system. Together, they will seize power with the cunning of wild beasts...........the miracle working religious leader will appear to be "like a lamb" but will speak deceitfully "like a dragon" (verse 11). He will be the religious agent of "the great dragon......that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world" (Revelation 12:9).

Wow good question! I don't know anything about him. He is never in the news or anything! Has he traveled anywhere to be with the people or has he done anything really great at all? I really don't even know if he is a good pope or not.

All who deny that Jesus is the unique Son of God
1 John 2:22: “This is the antichrist, the one that denies the Father and the Son.”
Compare John 10:36; Luke 9:35.

I, for one, don't care that he was a member of the Hitler Youth, or that he appears to be intolerant of other religions.

I want to see a full accouting of the books. The Catholic Church is worth trillions!

My love to you and your country. A pity that such a question invites all the nutters to come out of their closets.
He's doing fine. He speaks his mind which is great-if it's ok for the Muslim world to say what they want it is refreshing to hear someone in the Christian world not afraid to speak the truth. Most of the time we just pussyfoot around. Ciao bella!!
