You cannot control what other adults chose to do.
What you can do is not allow them in your home or around your son when they have been drinking.
He is your responsibility and is not capable of protecting himself from their behavior. It's up to you to guard him.

You already answered you question. You are the father of an 11 month old son!!! You need to be the adult. It is your responsibility to not only care for your son, but to be his example. Do you want your son to be an alcoholic too? Be strong. Be a good father. Know what you would want in a father and give the same to your son. Love him nanc

You can't stop them from drinking, that has to be their decision. You can tell them that you want to set a good example for your son, so you hope that when you have him around, you hope they will not drink. Tell them to please work with me on this, so we won't have another generation, growing up like we did.

Seek out an Al-Anon chapter, and keep your son away from them when they are drinking/drunk.
