This is a forum about religion.....not non-religion. At least that 's what it seems like to me. I ask questions to "BELIEVERS" and in return I get "worthless", "braindead", "heartless", "Doomed" answers that make no sense or have any logic....not to mention "hope". Do you think there should be a better forum for "NON-BELIEVERS"???

I get what you're saying, I've been offended at first by what answers some will give to a truly serious question. then I realized it's just a little funny and interesting as to the view that others have of people of faith i.e. christians, muslims, pagans, catholics, etc. I --as a christian feel bad that there is such a bad taste in peoples mouths because of those who say they are christians and are so disgustingly judgmental of others whom are not christians and even of those whom are christian. it's all opinion as to who is right and who is wrong, which is even a oxymoron, because faith is faith, it's just that. i have learned and continue to learn alot by the reactions of everyone here, it's quite the learning experience.

So, you want all the answers to your questions to be, "Yes, I agree with you"? I doubt that all the believers here completely agree with you... at least I hope not.

I understand that there are certain people that can think of nothing better than to antagonize you, but we're not all like that. Just as not all believers try to annoy all non-believers with every question.

Lastly, remember two things:

- It's my right to answer whatever questions I choose, as long as I don't abuse the system.
- If you're looking for a religious discussion forum where everybody has the same opinions as you... YA isn't the place.

Just asking this question is inviting abuse from the mental adolescents who get their jollies by insulting rather than discussing. That said. I could make the same comment about believers whose beliefs cause them to insult anyone who disagrees with their particular sect. We could go through this forum, and count who is attacked more often - "Christians" in general, or "Mormons" specifically.

The topic is "Religion and Spirituality" which in itself is broad and open to many interpretations - including the delusion that being spiritual is in itself somehow a disorder.

What is needed is some mutual respect. One can disagree without attacking each other, although modern media has encouraged ad hominim attack rather than rational discussion. We see it every day in government and education -- why expect improvement anywhere else? This is Religion and Spirituality, so we should expect better? Riiight.... Sorry, but mankind has an evil inclination as well as a good inclination -- and we are no longer encouraged to overcome the evil; in fact, if you look around, you will see a tendency to overcome the good through the nasty, unkind personal attacks on people who are sincerely asking to hear from others.

It annoys me also. I admit that when I first discovered these boards I took them seriously, tried to answer sincerely (like now), and took my time to be thoughtful and honest. But the longer I have been here (about a month now), the more disgusted I get with the mean-spirited one liners that are posted. Sure, sometimes it is easy to dismiss a troll - and I do it myself now, instead of ignoring all of them -- but to actually put thought into your reply takes more effort than our instant gratification society is willing to do.

Weather you are smart enough to understand it or not, it requires faith to believe that there is no god. There is a requirement of ones faith in himself to be able to use his intellect and reasoning skills logically. Since it cannot be prooved that a thing does not exist in reality, belief, (faithfullness in ones self,) must be called upon to affirm what one understands about the reality he perceives.

As far as the remainder of your shallow-minded opinions go, those opinions which seem to suggest that only you and your like-minded god-believer brethren are entitled to take part in discussions that include the broader and more commonly believed scripted religious systems.... PHH--LATT--UUU--lENCE BE UPON YOU... (pbuy).

There is a very good reason to keep watch over the misplaced and misguided beliefs of the self-rightous religious cults as any thinking person will be pleased to inform you - religion breeds division and disharmony wherever it goes. It is a virtual scurge on what could otherwise be a more peacful and harmonious earth.

FYI... the "faithful" do not have an exclusive corner on the "hope" market.... any fool can have hopes and dreams and wishes. It doesn't require a fake god and a bunch of ritualistic behavior to poscess the likes of such child-like desires.

So... if you're are still having trouble "getting it," try using the stuff inside your apparently pea-sized cranium for something other than a storage locker of Bible quotes. The exercise might do you some good.

Thank you for posting this most obviously self-centered, self-serving and un-christ-like question.

Technically, it's not forum. Yahoo! Answers is a place where people ask and answer questions on any topic. A forum would have more interaction between the participants.

Atheists are not excluded from answering any question.

You don't own this forum.

And I would think not all of the answers you get are entirely worthless or heartless (although I'm sure there's always a ranter or two).

Besides, where else are the non-believers going to post? certainly, not the mythology section, where you guys belong, with the wiccans and such

They have the right to be here to Bro, I mean freedom of speech, free will, that is another part of Christ. Besides they aren't worthless Christ did not come and die for the righteous but the very ones you call worthless. They are worthy enough for him to have given his life for. Remember condemnation is not of God only convection. And I'm really sorry Bro but about right now you should be feeling a real God smack! Their curious no matter what brought them and curiosity is another form of hunger. Feed them, don't trash them.

Not at all.....Christianity is one of many beliefs. If you're asking questions concerning your religion, why not just read all of the answers and see if you can't learn something new or be shown a slightly different perspective on things. I'm sorry if you're feeling attacked or disrespected, that's certainly inappropriate of people, but please don't shun the group for a select few.

Because Atheists don't believe in God, yet they don't believe in anything else either. they are lost trying to discover what that void in their souls is....
Atheists are confused.
They come here, and actually learn something about God...I bet there are some Atheists that go away from here even MORE confused than when they came in!!
They keep coming back because they are drawn to the truth!

I *so* need a pop-up for this question. IT's asked every 15 minutes!

Do you think only "celebrities" hang out in the "celebrities" forum?

People who like to discuss "religion and spirituality" hang out here. I personally do because my country is being overrun with these types and having meaningful discussions with these people seems a little bit important. In addition, I used to be one of them, so I have something to say.

If you want "Fundies Only" forums, there are plenty of those.
