if you are going to try this you would have to altenate between the drinks so that you could see whether it does work, and please let me know if you do try it. (my 10 year old child asked me this question, and since i'm a responsible parent i can't test it out)!

You will be a wide awake drunk - coffee may make you urinate more but it will not eliminate the alcohol effects in truth it make them worse by increasing dehydration. There have been theories tested that if you alternate water with alcohol you will be lees drunk but you still get drunk. The only sure fire way to drink and not get drunk is to have alcohol then water and the next drink 1 hour later you should also consume food like chips and salsa or chips and dip even small sandwiches reduce the alcoholic effects. Hope this helped!

Most are right. Alcohol will get you drunk no matter what the mixer is. Alcohol is actually considered a depressant and caffeine a stimulant. You would be an alert drunk. The things that would change things up is that you are not going to drink a hot beverage as quickly as a cool beverage.

First of all you should not drink to get drunk. If you do then you need to go get some help, because that is not "social" drinking. But in answer to your question, coffee only makes you a more"alert' drunk. It does not sober you up.

That's what they say, usually as the reason why you shouldn't mix energy drinks or cola with alcohol. I usually have either vodka and redbull or vodka and coke (the drink, not the drug!) though when I go out and never once had a hangover. I really don't know, maybe it depends on the person?

i am a trained bartender. coffee will only make a wide awake drunk, giving the false impression of sobriety. the liver is not affected by caffeine, which is the organ that filters alcohol out of the bloodstreem. cold showers, exercise and puking will not work either. the ONLY thing that will make a drunk person sober is time. my TABC(Texas Alcoholic Beverage Comission) certification training teaches this which any doctor will verify

Crumbs! What's your 10 year old been thinking about?!

Drink enough alcohol & you'll get drunk whatever you take with it. Maybe the caffeine would keep you awake beyond the point your body's natural defence mechanism (passing out) takes over, thus allowing you to drink your self to death!

I think you will still become just as drunk. By drinking tha alcohol, it is still entering your blood stream. And by chasing with coffee, you are just asking for more frequent trips to the washroom and nothing more.

A shot of good Brandy in a cup of fresh coffee is very warming in very cold weather,BUT don't do as I have done in the past and drink to many,or you will get a top- of the -range- hangover.

I don't think caffiene really counteracts the effects of alcohol - for example you still get drunk drinking red bull and vodka
