Sooner or later don't they wake up in a cold sweat and realize that they have wasted their entire lives and that this is as good as it is going to get?

They get treated better than the 120 amputees a year in one Seattle ho9spital. Soldiers get more support that the lumber jacks do after they cut a limb off with his chain saw.
There was at least one amputee that was healthy enough to go back into Iraq as a soldier.

I retired from military service, got married and found a well-paying job in the civilian sector.
And as for 'wasted' - ever year I was in the service I did more and lived a fuller life than you will in your entire life.
You know you have done things in your life when your niece asks you questions about an event you participated in - as research for her history homework.

Thanks for putting down all the soldiers that are trying to keep this country free. They do have horrible dreams, and all they want is to support their family and keep them free, and at LEAST be supported by the American people. You know, maybe you should step in their shoes and see how long you would last. Thank God for those who care about the soldiers.

Why are you slandering our solders they are the best of the best .. Even with a handicap they are still better than the likes of you sir.. Did you know only 1% of our total population are soldiers.. These soldiers know this and are fighting to keep our country and you sir free .. you should be ashamed of your self...

no actually they still serve there country many still lead the same lives they use to b 4 the incident and some were it as a constant reminder of the sacrifcies they made for the likes of u.

I hope that you are trying to point out the shabby treatment that returning veterans get from the government. They have many times the unemployment, suicide rate and homelessness, than others. They have to wait for healthcare, their psychlogical problems are brushed off, and those recruiters who promised them the moon, are no where to be found.

Okei, so you don't like that military. That's your prerogative. I'm assuming you're in the US, so no one's going to force you to join.
However, you're basically saying that people who choose to make the military their life are wasting it. I think that's an abhorrent judgment.
