A big misunderstanding, we feel that this life is so precsious and amazing. That if everyone took care of each other and we had peace in the world, there wouldn't be a need for the thought of an afterlife. Our mortality to me gives life meaning, the simple fact that everything dies, says something to us. That we don't live forever, who wants that? There could be a "heaven" on earth if we try.

Nope. But instead of worrying about an afterlife, I try to make THIS life happy for me and others. Theism uniquely empowers people to do horrible things, because of a ridiculous belief in an afterlife.

If you understand that this life is all you get, you respect it a lot more.

No I do not get sad, I live my life in the here and now. I am not waiting to die for a better life. Because dead is dead nobody ever has come back to tell us other wise.

I think its sad that you concern yourself so much with what might come after death. I don't believe in waiting for the afterlife to be happy: I believe we must seize happiness in the here and now.

Well good for you then.

Sure, I'd be glad to be wrong. But that doesn't mean I'm going to lie to myself. In the meantime, I'll make the most of this life.
