If your acne is severe, go see a derm (ie: acneic lesions). But here is what I tried for mine: use a nice face soap that is gentle, like phisoderm or cetaphil. (Use one that says "for normal or oily skin"). Wash your face for 15-30 seconds gently. Then, PAT your face dry. Rubbing makes acne worse. After your face is dry, take some benzoyl peroxide, the 2.5% and NOT 10%, and gently smooth it on your face, especially the affected areas. Check out the neutrogena line to find your benzoyl treatment. Then, use a very very very light moisturizer, or none at all if your skin is tough. It may take a couple of months before you notice anything. But, be patient. And do this twice a day.

Nothing will prevent acne, only help your skin. Once you wash your face with any solution (clearsil or proactive or others) and dry it throughly (also read directions on back of solution) then follow these methods.
After washing...
-Don't touch your face or neck regions (if you eat food it may have grease or butter or oil and this may get on your fingers. touching your face with the same fingers that you touched that food with will transmitt that oil or grease to your face. this will basically cancel the function of the solution)
-Wash your hands after you eat, with soap and warm water.
-Dry your face after washing very dry. Dirt can get on moist skin and cause thick watery dirt which can plug pores.
-Wash face flush with water after you sweat or work.
-Washing your face with water after every activity is very good. My suggestion is do this every 45-60 mins or so. The more you wash with WATER the better. Remember don't over do the amount of washing with soap or that may just cause more dryness and itchiness.
-When applying your solution, make sure it is alittle soupy. You want it to have alittle water in it so that the solution goes in your pores and cleans them.
-Don't pick at your pimples. This will lead to more pimples, and after picking at about the 3rd one, you'll have scares for ever!
-Burger King, McDonalds, and Wendies should all be cut from the daily schedual! Fast food is a no no.
-If you're in your teens, then most likely you're still going through puberty. Unbalanced hormones can lead to pimples.
-Stress is also a leading factor. Try and make more time for leisure if this is the case. Freeing your stress is great for everything. Your pimples, and even your pyschological side.
Remember. Pimples can not be gone for ever, but can be reduced at the time. Follow this simple path, and make sure you make a good habit!
Good luck,
alex

everyone releases toxins from their bodys in different way, people that have acne release it that way. So my advice to you is to get into a healthy diet. Yes what you eat matters sooooo much in the pimples that you get. What worked for me wonders was FLAXSEED and taking a colon cleanser. you can get flaxseed at any supermarket or healthy food store, they are very cheap. put it in yogurt or in cereal or rice whatever you like and eat a spoon of it a day. I also put it in the blender and make it powder and put it in my food and i cant even tell im eating it. Flaxseed cleans your system from all the toxins.
Also, do you go to the bathroom everyday? if you dont then thats a problem. Thats where the colon cleanser comes in. your body is holding on to all the stuff that you eat and like it has no way to release it, you break out!
dont eat read meat... it stays in your system for 7 days before you can digest it...
So just do those eating changes and wash your face only twice a day and try clean and clear (works good for me) and i know u will see the difference in about a week ..
hope it helps!

Take Zinc, Vitamins E, A and Omega's (according to the recommendation)....also, you can take a vitamin #E and poke a hole in the end, rub the vitamin E oil directly on the problems and leave on overnight. These are things that will fight the Acne from within and don't keep putting too much stuff on your skin, you could cause or complicate the problem with too many chemicals stripping your skin. Don't forget to eat your leafy green vegetables.

What you eat makes generally no difference! Doctors cure Acne with antibiotics, but don't overdo it. Usually its a hormonal tempest which makes your skin oily and cosequently break out. Best way is prevention through Saunas (to get the seb out of your system), professional faccial cleanse (in specialised centres). Try mud baths/masks which soak up oil. Most importantly GO TO A DERMATOLOGIST!

It is actually proven that diet does have something to do with it, but chocolate, does not do anything to acne, cut down on the greasy foods, dont pop the pimples, cause that makes the bacteria spread and cause more. When washing your face, use a delicate soap, like dove, or even better at your store they should have glycerine soap, that stuff is amazing, and dont use a wash cloth, use your fingers when washing your face, when you scrub, you break them open and thye could get infected and make it all worse, dont pick at them. Even though they may look gross, dont pick! I am not sure if your a male or a female but use the oil free makeup, and dont change brands, that makes your acne worse too. anytime you do anything that makes you sweat, wash your face immediately!!

Pimples are caused when bacteria get into the pores on your face (or body). Once the bacteria get into the pores, they polymerize the oil in your pores and turn it into a thicker "oil" that doesn't flow anymore. This polymerized oil collects with dirt, clogs and blocks the pores and forms pimples and blackheads.
The BEST thing you can do is to wash your hands and face every couple of hours with warm soap and water to remove the oil. In addition to this, wash your face after every meal and before you go to bed. Even wash your face after every snack. Also keep your hair out of your face AND keep your hands away from your face.

Seeing a Dermatologist is probably yr best bet. However my 14 yr old son has been successful using ST. IVES Apricot scrub (Gentle) in the shower every morning.you can find it at walgreens or your grocery store. Then he uses Clearasil if he gets a bad break out. He also finds that if he gets a little sunshine on his face it tends to clear up his skin. Best of luck to you.
