What part of the U.S. has the most overweight people? Why do you think this is?

I have heard it's Texas. They said it's cause Texans wanna do everything by car, they rarily walk, there are hardly any sidewalks in Texas.

I used to live in the south, and I can agree that it's where the most overweight people live. People in the south are either the most attractive people you will ever find, or they're over weight. Nearly always one of them.
Now Iive in the Pacific Northwest. People might not be as attractive, but they're healthier and that's for sure.

It's definitely the South. The CDC compiles statistics on obesity. Link is shown below.
Part of it is that black people have a high incidence of obesity and more black people live in the South.
Other ethnic groups that have problems are Hispanics and Pacific Islanders (Hawaii).
The Pima Indians in the US Southeast have the highest rate of obesity in the world.

Mississippi has the highest obesity rate. It's attributed to the low income.

The South, for some reason - it has to do with low incomes and cheap food being the worst for you health-wise.
