SpyDawn is relatively new. You have to give the spyware remover programs some time to update their definitions. Yesterday was spycrush and today it's spydawn. If you try a mix of anti-spyware programs you'll be able to get better results. One anti-spyware program will detect what the other missed. See if the spydawn files on http://www.spywareremove.com/removeSpyDawn.html show up on the scanner that you're using.

You can also just go and submit spyware samples to symantec and on their next update they'll have spydawn definitions for norton. Submit spyware sample http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/submit.html

1. first you have to download "smitfraudfix" and save it to your desktop. you can download that here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/smitfraudfix.php )

2. once it is downloaded, restart your computer. when it is starting up press f8 and a menu should appear. select the "safe mode" option.

3. after starting up on safe mode, open up smitfraudfix. when it first starts a box should come up that says "joedanger is not associated..." or something like that. just press any key to continue.

4. now you should see a menu with a few options on it. select "clean " (you select it by pressing 2 on your keyboard and then enter.

5. now smitfraudfix will start to clean your computer. when it is finished the cleaning, a box will come up that says "the disk cleanup utility is cleaning up unnessecary files on your machine" this process may take a while to complete.

6. when this process is finished, it will ask you: "do you want to clean the registry? y/n" press the y button on your keyboard and then press enter.

7. when this is done, a notepad screen will open up that shows all of the files which were cleaned off of your computer. you should probably look at this. when your done looking at it, close all of the open windows and then restart your computer.

8. this time when your computer is starting up, DO NOT run it on safe mode. just start it up normally. now the spydawn program and a majority of the other dangerous stuff on your computer should be gone.
