There is no difference. To the mind, all information is interpreted literally, no matter what the source. What you call "reality" is nothing more than a concept that exists only inside your mind. It's been inputted, filtered, interpreted, modified, then projected mentally outside of you...
It's all just electrical impulses wandering around inside your brain...

Make believe would differ from faith for instance in that make believe is made up by you without any reason, or supporting testimony. For instance the Christian tesimony and record has agreement with and intersections in history and other circumstantial evidence, faith in this instance is in part based on that, it is not the same as a story or tale without any connection to history. We know that Christ is connected to real historical facts, places, people, and things. Then there is the testimony of the holy spirit bearing witness with your spirit that you are a child of God, and the things that are spoken of in the bible happen to people. Make believe also has implict in its wording, a sense in which you simply make it up. Most individuals do not make up their religions, it is in many cases handed down to them.So make believe carries within it a sense of faking or lying or making it up, while faith is confident expectation in something real that may or may not be warranted.

interesting question...I believe that disregarding the tenets of other religions as 'make-believe' is a very prominent theme among the most popular religions in the world, i.e. christianity, judaism, and islam. I suppose that through the negation of another religion contributes to the justification of one's own practice, even if this ideology can not be confirmed using the standard of scientific method (hypothesis, testing, provision of sufficient evidence, conclusion). So, I suppose that one's faith is primarily based on the re-indoctrination of the written word, despite the generational changes made to the scripture over time.

Good question. I will try to answer. The "truth" is within you. This truth is found by being still{mediation}. Once a person finds the truth of themselves, they know the truth of everything. Thus they see it outside as well. All any religion can do is "point" to the truth that IS within you. The person must do the work of "doing nothing"{being still}. not easy.

The idea of paradigm realities addresses this issue, which is why Modern society is fragmented; subjective nominalism replaces tradition.

Difficult question, since the neuro-biology of the brain interprets such things as meditative states and eating a steak as equally real.

I always love your questions. The majority of them seemed to be designed to get people to really think about "why" they believe what they believe. They aren't attacking, but asking others to be introspective.

My faith comes from God. Not people. Not tracts. Not from my own imagination. God is reality. He gave me my own testimony, and now I believe in Him and His Word.
