Without knowing any other facts about your situation, I would say that you have gout. This is due to an excess of a certain acid in the body. There is very effective medicine for this, and your doctor can do a simple test to make sure that it is gout. Also, you can control this through not eating excessive amounts of certain foods. I know this can be extremely painful, so call your doc right away.

Gout causes pain in the big toe. Is this a new thing? No injury? Did you stub your toe recently? No ingrown toenail? Is it swollen or red? If it is, you need to see the doctor. It is hard to say what it could be without a little more info--sorry.

Sounds like you have 'Gout'. It is incredibly painful and usually attacks the big toe joints. Do a web search and see if it sounds like your symptoms. I have had a few bouts with it and it even hurt when the weight of the bed covers were on it.

Oddly the muscles in the calf are considered foot muscles. Muscles can have knots (trigger points) that make them tight which in turn put pressure on nerves and other things.
Molasses - a couple of swigs or Bananas 1 or 2 - both contain magnesium and potassium for muscles.
Try working with the principles taught in The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.
I use a chiropractor and massage therapist with it
