Unfortunately, ultrasound will not tell you if you have hepatitis. ALT, AST, bilirubin levels, ALP, GGTP, LDH can be seen in all sorts of liver diseases and all forms of hepatitis. It is not specific. It will not tell you what type of hepatitis you have. Hepatitis profile will tell you what type of viral hepatitis you have, how recent (acute or chronic) is the viral hepatitis?, are you infective?, etc. HBV-DNA will tell you the hepatitis B viral load. Liver biopsy can also be done but it is not usually done unless the doctors could not find the cause of the hepatitis.
