I got a body wave perm a couple months ago and i'm wondering if it is safe to color it now. Also I'd like to know which type of color to use (semi-permanent/permanent).

Additionally I wonder if it is safe to straighten it every now and then?

Do any professionals out there reccommend a product i can buy at a beauty supply store, or even at target, that will restore damage? After numerous color and the perm my hair is VERY damaged!

Usually after a wave or a perm, it is best to wait about 3 to 5 weeks before doing a color on your hair. It should be safe to color it now though. If you use permanent color, it usually lasts longer, but it is tough on your hair. Target or Walmart or a beauty supply store should have this conditioner called Infusium. There is a couple of types. One is used when you condition after washing and there is a spray in one that you use after the conditioner and you can leave it in. The spray one can be used several times a day if needed and will restore damaged hair. Of course, you may need to get the ends trimmed first and then all this stuff will work faster. Also drink more water to make sure you are hydrated and this will aid the scalp in healing the hair that is damaged. It is okay to straighten it every now and then. Just don't let the heat get too intense as to burn and melt. Also you can do hot oil treatments that can be bought at any of the same places. Good luck and have fun doing different things with your hair. I swear by that Infusium! It is really good!

why dont u blow dry it straight or have it pressed with a ceramic iron?

Less harse than straightening.
And of course u can dye it now, ounce you past your two week wait after having the perm if I were u I would use a semi- perminant dye just incase you dont absolutly love your new color. Also before u dye your hair give it a deep penetrating mask like Tiger Moisture Masque.

yeah you usually have to wait 2 weeks after any perm...you can try to let your hair grow then cut all the damaged parts off...but for now you can probably try using a cholestertol treatment.
