I think everyting is relative. I had to buy a new computer, old one finally crashed (hardware problems). Bought a new one with Vista and I must say I like it. So far I've have no problems. Of course I have found most problems are actually user error (a lot of people don't like to be told that). I know almost every computer problem I've had hasn't been MS or an vender's fault, it was mine.

Vista is awesome IF you have the right hardware to take it!
I use a Toshiba Qosmio F30/695LSBL, which is Vista ready.
If I want to revert back to XP, it's not a problem because the XP files are built into the computer, not on disc. This means they are permanently there, which is good for me if I want to switch back and forth between programs.
Vista uses a lot of power, but in my honest opinion, it's worth it if you're patient. I'd recommend waiting for a year or so, when the price goes down and it's been tweaked to operate better.
That said, I've had zero problems with it so far!

in case you would be loading older utility or making use of it with older legacy peripherals, them Vista might latest you with some annoying circumstances. while you're adept with computers you may discover the abode variations the two common and top classification slightly annoying. Vista warns you approximately particularly much each and every thing.... it assumes you're an fool. and in case you swap off the function that themes the warning they're going to cut back yet no longer be eradicated, yet every time you boot up it is going to alert you which you're no longer receiving the warning it element you will possibly desire to have!! the only way that function ought to be worse is that if it replaced into in a position to declare "I informed you so" it would then be the automated version of your mom. Visa does nevertheless have some report circulate speed themes that are supposedly being addressed in the 1st Vista service %..... yet i do no longer understand whilst it incredibly is due out.

Looks like you answered your own question...in my opinion Vista is pretty good, but it depends on your hardware and which applications you need.
