What is the best bed for lower back pain? I have a rather hard bed and every morning I wake with lower back pain, I am stiff for about 15 minutes and then it goes away. I am wondering if it is my hard bed or could be something else. Please any help would be great... Thanks

Firm bed is best. If you sleep on your back, put a pillow or wedge under your legs. If you sleep on you side, put a pillow between your knees. (this helps to alleviate some of the strain on the lower back) If you sleep on your stomach, STOP THAT! That causes a sway in your lower back (especially if you have a big tummy pulling down on your back). Every morning, set your clock for about 5 minutes earlier than you usually do and for that five minutes, lie on your back and (one leg at a time) do stretching. Bend one knee (with the foot flat on the bed) and slowly raise the other knee up and pull it (with your hands) slowly up toward your chin. You will feel a wonderful stretching sensation in your lower back and the back of your thigh. Do each leg about 10 times (slowly). You will feel so much better.

Muscles can have knots (trigger points) that make them tight which in turn put pressure on nerves and other things.
Molasses - a couple of swigs or Bananas 1 or 2 - both contain magnesium and potassium for muscles.
Try working with the principles taught in The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.
I use a chiropractor and massage therapist with it

I prefer a hard bed. I have back problems. Have you tried sleeping with a pillow between your knees, when you sleep on your side? When sleeping on your back, place the pillow under your knees. I've been doing this for years and it helps my sciatica a LOT!

lower back pain from bed usually means its too soft, you need a firm matress and a firm base to lay it on

Whichever works best for you. It's an individual thing.
