The 4th line seems a little wordy to me.
maybe
"They would love if you would plan on joining them"
I would just say
Formal invitation to follow. or Invitation to follow closer to the date.

You might also want to provide details on where the ceremony will be--what city, in case people will need to travel long distance to get there.
I also like "Invitation to follow." Adding "nearer to the date" sounds almost redundant.
Save the date cards are more informal that an actual wedding invitation, but will reflect the formality you're going for. Don't do something too cutesy if you're going to plan a super formal wedding and reception.
Congrats on your engagement and have fun wedding planning!

It sounds just fine. But if you think the last two sentences are wordy, try this instead:
They would love for you to join them!
Invitation to follow in May (or whatever month you plan to send it)
Congratulations!!

I would recommend you add the city and state where you are getting married as well for guests who may need to make travel and hotel arrangements, but you don't need to add specifics for the actual location and times. Also I would just say "Invitiation to follow", you do not need to add "nearer to the date"

I think it needs to be a little more formal...I guess depending on the type of wedding is how you should word it as well. If its going to be a fancy wedding make it formal. If its going to intimate, simple, and fun you could probably leave it the way it is.
just yahoo search save the date cards and a lot of ideas will show up.

I think "Invitation to follow nearer to the date" sounds a little odd. I would switch that to "Invitation and details to follow". Other than that I think it sounds fine. And congratulations!

I like it. The date sounds kinda funny, but I'm american and we tend to not do things properly.

sounds fine... we got actual save the date card... said save the date on them... all we had to do was fill in the info... names and date etc...
save the date cards are to inform people of your actual wedding date... this way family and friends can reserve the date and make thier arrangements to attend...
just dont forget to send out invitations!!
good luck and congrats!
(by the way, nothing wrong with your grammer!)

Congratulations! Why send this out? Traditionally a month or two in advance is time enough to send out invitations. Save yourself some money.
