If you are going to college in the same town then i would stay at home it would be cheaper. but u could give ur parents a little money to take care of the utilites.

If you can afford it I would suggest you move on campus and experience real college life. If you stay at home it will feel just like high school. If you can't do it now as a Freshman, please budget your money and move on campus at least in your Junior year. College is not only about what you learn in the classroom but also outside of it. Our youngest son went to a private college out of state. Just his experience getting home that first Thanksgiving was worth the room and board.

Take advantage of the option of being able to stay at home while going to college. It's much cheaper than living in a dorm. You need to establish boundaries with your parents though. I think you should help pay for some living expenses but they will need to recognize you as an adult and not treat you like a child...you need to make sure what the arrangements/ground rules will be.

I'd stay at home and save on room and board...but I'd also give Mom and Dad a little money to help out if you're working too.

Can you afford to move out? Are you mature enough/responsible enough to take care of yourself? If so, move out.
