If I were to fly from Leeds&Braford (or Manchester) to Geneva in Feb 2008 and stay for a week in a 3* hotel (or possibly other accommodation), do you know how much it would cost roughly? Just trying to roughly compare prices of different holidays.
Thank you.

Price next year, don't know.

Let's say Feb 2007, staying at 3* Hotel Montana.
Date of Stay: 21.03.2007 - 27.03.2007 / 6 Nights
Room: 1 Double (for 2 Persons)
Incl.: Breakfast
2 Adults
Total Hotel Price of 2 ppl for a week: CHF 1,054.00

There's Mac Donald in Geneva for low cost food! chf 11.90 Large Menu/ Person. Also Burger King.

Low-medium meal at MIGROS RESTAURANT, MANOR REST, COOP REST. A Buffet menu (meat, veg, pasta/ rice, potato) about CHF 20.-

Good Price Shopping mall Manor-La Placette

For 2 persons, a week, I would calculate generously as follow:
Hotel: CHF 1'100
Lunch at Migros/ Manor/ Coop: CHF 300.-
a la Carte Dinner: CHF 600.- (if you wish to have nice dinner)
Total round up: CHF 2'000 = US$ 1'620
*without shopping & extras!

Return FliGHT Manchester - Geneva about US$ 300.-

Does this information help you?

For airfares you probably know better than me. Just go to BMI , BA or one of the other discount operators.

For accommodation prices to Geneva ( or wherever you choose to go ), try Cheaper than hotels - Geneva ( etc ) . You can sort your selections by star rating, price , location.

btw - Feb 08 is way too early for specials, but you'll get an idea of prices at the last minute per this year on the sites below. Feb is low .... low ....cheap season.... except during a convention.

Some tips - get maximum value from your accommodation. Dig deep into the website and look for what each deal includes ( e.g. breakfast, transfers, amenities ), then put a value on it. Sometimes, a 4 star hotel can work out better value than a 2 star one. Good luck with your planning

Switzerland is unfortunately not a cheap destination. Check out the link for 3-star hotel prices. Generally, a 3-star hotel costs about 130 to 220 chf per room per night = 54 to 91 pound per night. Ebookers.com is also a very good reference if you know the approximate date of travel.

Eating out in Switzerland is also not cheap. I would suggest 50 chf per person for a meal without alcohol (21 pound). Of course, that is just an idea - a meal at a cafeteria-type restaurant in one of the major grocery-chain stores is about half the price.

Depending on what you wanted to see, there are a variety of train passes for the region that offer full travel for a number of days and entry to museums. Check out the link below for prices.

So, for the week, based on an average hotel of 180 chf per night and 60 chf per day for food, I suggest about 1680 chf (about 700 pound). Add on another 368chf and it makes it 850 pound. Of course, is hard to estimate costs for someone else. Everyone has their own style of travelling and it depends what you want to do.

as a manner to wager at a cost, we would could bypass on line, seek for flight expenses (and those only accessible approximately 10 months in improve), hotel expenses and attempt to locate international Cup value ticket expenses. you ought to do all of that your self, and study so lots greater with reference to the concepts. Or, you bypass bypass to a trip agent. that should in all probability be the appropriate thank you to get some estimate. i does no longer be shocked if diverse companies have international Cup applications accessible. you ought to no longer prefer a equipment, yet that should a minimum of supply a beginning element for the expenses.
