To answer your question, the G.O.A.T is and will always be Sugar Ray Robinson. Sports Writers and Boxing Historians alike all agree with this fact, his record speaks for itself, and Ali, well, he liked to say he was the goat.

I have to say that the greatest fighter of all time is Sugar Ray Robinson who had 175 wins, 109 kayo's welterweight champion who never lost his crown and 5 time middleweight champion. He fought and beat such fighters as Armstrong, Gavilan, Basillio, Fullmer, LaMotta, Turpin, Graziano, Olson and more. When he initially retired before coming back 5 years later he had compiled a record of 131-3 so that is the reason I pick him as the best of all time! Good question sir!

This debate may never end. The world will never have an exact answer for this question. You can simply say that every boxer is the greatest because they fight for what they believe. They fight for their existence, but most of all, they fight because of passion. Every boxer is great for their own reasons. Some boxers are just more widely considered than others because they get more exposure, or simply because they are more talented.
Most experts consider Sugar Ray Leonard as the greatest of all time, because he had a tremendous talent and passion for boxing. He did not go to the ring to fight. He went there to win. Muhammad Ali is an all-time great because of his talent and charisma. Henry Armstrong is great because of his consistency.
In the end, there will still be no definite answer to who is the greatest of them all. There are new boxers everyday. There are great boxers right now. Who knows? It's a round world we live in.
