I know this situation sounds weird but i'm seriously wondering. my cousin who lives with me had hep c at birth. if a pet such as a dog licks her and then licks someone else in the household can they get it? what if the dog licks the cousin then a person in the household who has a small cut or something can they get it?

hep c is only in the blood so you will need to have blood to blood contact or body fluids swapped with each other, not through some one

Hepatitis C is spread through blood and needle sticks or from an infected mother to her infant during birth. I personally think it would be unlikely to get Hep C from the dog. Just don't use any objects that could have the other persons blood on it, that could get into your body (razors, scissors, needles, etc). Check out www.cdc.gov for more information on Hep. C or any other diseases!!!

Only if she has an open, bleeding wound which the dog licks and then licks someone who also has an open wound. Very remote chance.
