The answers to your questions are:
No; they are called Muslims.
Regarding snakes and Muslims, keeping a snake as a pet is not permissible. Rasulullah Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam has commanded the killing of snakes. (Hadith of Bukhari and Muslim). Mirqat Vol. 7 Pg: 712 [Maktaba Haqqaaniyya]
Rasulullah Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam has also discouraged keeping dogs as pets (Mirqaat Vol. 7 Pg. 697) To keep harmful animals or animals deemed impure in the Shariah eg. pigs , as pets would not be permissible.
Other animals such as cats, sheep, goats, birds, fish etc. are permissible to keep as pets.
Reason for mis-information: Islamic commandments seem irrational to the western mind. Such as Quran 9:29 “fight (jihad) those who believe not in Allah”
Quran 8:39 “and fight with them until...religion should be only for Allah"
Quran 8:12 “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.
Quran 33:61 “cursed: wherever they are found they shall be seized and murdered, a horrible murdering.”

When we try to go into the greater depths Holy text Quran, there can be a possibility for Snake Worship also. Perhaps this analogy is not liked by the peripheral thinkers of Islam.
Imagine, what all things can the most famous statement of Quran can mean, "There is no other Creator other than Allah" . For this statement to be true, anything that creates anything should be Allah only. There is a glimpse of Advaita Analogy over here. In nature everything that are dying give way to another creation. The body when dead, give way to sand and worms. Also there are issues of progeny as creation. If Allah is behind all these creations, then in Snake also Allah should be there, otherwise the statement above quoted may become false.
Perhaps that's what Advaita also say, the 100% Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient God in Everything, Every living and Dead beings that are instrumental in this world to do something, to create something according to the 100% potent Will of Allah.

The followers of Islam are called Muslims. What do they worship, like all religion, they worship God. I dont know what their god looks like, maybe it's a faceless God. I don;t know where you got the snake stuff, but since you mentioned Hinduism, Lord Siva has a snake on this shoulder, so maybe you just meshed all those religions in your head and got confused. How to avoid confusion? Diversity helps. Reading helps. Finding out for yourself helps. Hopefully this helps.

They believe they are the "chosen" followers of God. They have the true means of salvation. Yet their hope is all works based. They deny the same deity of Jesus Christ as Jehovah. In their version of the Bible, John 1:1 declares that Jesus is a god and not THE God. They are going to call an ex JW the enemy of God because he has fallen away from the "faith". They do not realize they have faith in their works just like the lost. "I hope that I'm good enough to make it into Heaven." I John 5 tells us, "so that we KNOW..." Read it for yourself. What does Ephesians 2:8-9 say to us about our works? If they believe as the lost believe. "I haven't murdered anyone, so I'm going to Heaven..." Sin is sin. God doesn't care if you haven't murdered in action. You are answerable for every thought, word, and deed. If the JW calls you an enemy of God.. Consider it a good thing. For their authority is in themselves. For while we were still enemies of God, He loved us in that He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins that we might spend eternity with Him.

No they are Mahammadinindiandians, and they worship centipedes and scorpions, not snakes. Snakes are for eating.
People reread his question.
Yes there is a lot of misinformation.
Some of it is just out of ignorance but a lot of it is for propaganda purposes. If people knew more about each other it might promote peace, but I personally doubt that it would.

I see the point made. And yes, I agree, it only makes sense before spouting out that someone's a heretic or going to hell for their beliefs that you should learn a bit -about- those beliefs that you're complaining about. That's what made me what I am..... who knows what it will do to others.....
