I used to manage a great smoothie shop for three years and I have tried everything. However, the first thing to know is, typically smoothies are made with fruit, which means they are going to have calories and at least a little fat, but don,t get down, they are good calories, despite what you hear to the contrary. You also want to add a little something like yogurt, soy ice cream, or sherbet to give them a smooth texture, otherwise you are making a fruit slushy. My favorites are:
1) Pixies Kiss:
Apple Juice
Pineapple Juice
Pineapple Sherbet
Strawberries
Peaches
Banana
A little honey
Ice
2) Radical Raspberry
Raspberry Juice
Raspberry sherbet
Raspberries
Blueberries
Banana
3) Cool Breeze
Pineapple Juice
Pineapple Sherbet
Pineapples
Strawberries
Hope this helps. Remember, be creative, and have fun. Write down your recipes down and name them!

I just like to buy those bags of Dole mixed frozen fruit - they have peaches, strawberries, melons, pineapples and grapes all chopped up and mixed in there, and then mix some of that with a banana or two and some milk or orange juice in the blender, and it's done! Nice and simple.

I'm not sure if it has a lot of calories, but get some frozen "fancy berry" packages, add a cup of vanilla soymilk that has been microwaved for one minute, blend together, and serve (great with a little whipped cream).
Add more soymilk as needed.
