You are more likely to find the information you need if you go to a genealogical message board. There are several on the internet, but the one I would recommend is found at

http://www.usgenweb.net/wa

This link will take you to the Washington State genealogical page. From there you can click on the Whatcom County genealogical page. There you should find, at the very least, a link to a message board for that county. Post your query there-you are much more likely to get a positive response. Also look around the county website. Each website is different, so I don't know exactly what will be on it, but you may find a link to surnames being researched. You may find a researcher looking into this family who could help you.

Another place you can go to find possible relatives is Heritage Quest. This online resource is availble through your local public library. It contains many of the US Census records; for your search, I'd look at the 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920, and 1930 Censuses. There is a search engine where you can put in the names. See if you find any hits there. The whole family should be listed, and you will get names of children and possibly grandchildren.

The best of luck to you.

If you are interested in Swedish descendants or relatives, you may contact someone in the directory at http://privatpersoner.eniro.se/query?what=wp&search_word=ridderbjelke&geo_area= . I'm pretty sure that they are related to the person that you mention. This is not a common name. It looks like the family belongs to the nobility. The family is included in the Swedish Peerage Index, http://www.riddarhuset.se/jsp/index.jsp?id=553 .
