charm m: thanx I am exercising thank you for telling me I have to cut calories, it's going to be hard but I really do want to lose weight

Both will make it look as if you have lost weight when you step on the scale. However, any "weight" loss is not permanent. You'll weigh the same as when you began after you resume your normal food intake.

If you really want to maintain weight loss, cut calories and begin an exercise program. Once you have reached your goal you must continue the healthy lifestyle.
