I'm planning on getting a piercing soon but dont want to look like a baby complaining about how much it hurts. Is there a way to forget about the pain or increase my tolerance?

yes, you can inflict moderate pain on the spot you are getting pierced, but other than that you should use ice to numb it before getting pierced

I cracked a rib once. The pain that cased was REALLY bad! Even inhaling to breathe was painful, and giving a sneeze was so bad I had to sit down beforehand, otherwise I worried I might pass out. :( It sucked. And interestingly enough, after I completely healed from that injury, it seemed my overall pain tolerance (dental work, minor injuries, etc.) had risen. But I guess you don't have time to crack a rib and wait for it to heal.
