But i used the key from net.......So i think its illegal one....If i call microsoft then is it legal .....Plz help i dont know nething abt dis crap....

CD keys you get from the net are pirated & you might not be able to install some updates from microsoft.
Were you able to activate your copy? Or is there a message saying you only have xx days left to activate? If so, you'll need to find a legitimate key. If it's asking to activate, you can try calling Microsoft to activate it. Just tell them your hard drive crashed & you had to reinstall. They'll tell you if it's a bad key or not, and you won't get in trouble if it's bad...it just won't get activated & you'll have to get a new key.
Did you check the side & back of your computer to see if there was a sticker with the xp product key? If your computer came with windows xp they usually have that sticker.

If you used a key from the internet and not the key from your own CD then it's illegal. However, if you have proof that you legally purchased the software, then you can probably contact microsoft and they can help you out.

Yes you will have to buy a legal copy of XP.
However if you would like a free, reliable and up to date operating system get UBUNTU. The programs are also FREE!!!
