My wife and I have another couple visiting us at the moment. They are not bad people at all. However, they are really annoying. They do nothing but talk about themselves, and seem to talk to each other more than to us. They complain non-stop about their lives, and they are really self centered. My wife and this woman are old friends But they have got really annoying lately. Frankly, I find a lot of their behavours to be downright rude. They are not rude in anyway that is overt. A casual observer might not notice what I am talking about. But they are realy terrible house guests. They do not offer to help with anything such as cleaning dishes or stuff like that.
Anyway, they were going to depart on today, but then they ndicated that they want to stay another night.
Is there a white lie we can tell them to get them to leave? Or is there something else we could do?
I don't want to be impolite to them, but there presence is getting so annoying!
Any ideas?

Not sure what you can do for their additional night's stay especially since they sound clueless about their rudeness as it is. But just so they don't try to extend again, mention that you have something planned for the day after. In the future, say you'd be glad to suggest a local hotel. Good luck!

Being I've been there and did that I simply told these people my sexual expression with my wife, my lover, my best friend is in jeopardy with their residing in my home. How can I help you to move into some place where you can have the same relationship I have with my wife. A place where you can freely express.
then hand them the news paper.

Tell them that the original plan was for them to leave today and that you and your wife made plans. Ask them to get a hotel room and if they are that annoying offer twenty dollars to help with this expense. Make sure you and your wife stick together on this one though.

I would congratulate you on making it this far without incident and just suggest you bite your tongue for one more night. I certainly do hope you get a decent host's gift though. If it goes on and they postpone their departure even further, start dropping hints that they could help out with chores, run errands, etc. Chances are they'll be gone before you complete the sentence.

lets see hm-mm, tell them that you want to get freaky with your wife and you cant do it with them staying there! .....or go to the store and get some good old fashion navy beans with some ham, cook it up and let nature take its course.....or...... use your cell phone and call your house, pretend that the doctor said a confirmation was about that head lice is true! ......or......look at them straight in the eye and say " I've had some deep feelings about you and wonder what you would look like naked!!...........if none of these work, ..watch Amityville horror and polish your gun!!!...................

It's only one more night that you guys have to deal with. Let them stay for the night and then asking them what time are they taking off because you and your wife have plans for the night.

hi...its very easy this one...sneak off and switch of 'all' your power, 'all' the electrics...then tell them you and your wife are going to her or your mothers because the news is the 'power' is not coming back on for 24 hours...then tell them that they must leave so you can lock the place up before you depart...lol
