First answer is correct, the E145 is a smaller aeroplane, but it is a regional jet, typically with about 50 seats. In contrast, the MD80 is a long, narrowbody (1 aisle, like the Embraer) typically seating 140 passengers, and capable of cross-country flights. However, seating space per passenger is not much different between these two jets, in the way that AA currently has them configured.

RE:
What's the difference between the Embraer RJ145 Amazon and McDonnell Douglas MD80 ?
I'll be traveling through texas in a couple of weeks and this is the first time I've ever taken American Airlines and recieved these two jets(taking the ERJ, layover, then the MD80) instead of the Boeing. As far as traveling goes, are they bumpier? Are they just as safe? Are they far more...

A flirt is someone who will talk nasty to you, give you sexual looks and give the occasional long hug. a tease is someone who shows skin, more of a look but don't touch kind of deal. Get you in a room start messing around, then make some excuse of why they can't go any further. I prefer the flirt over the tease!!

The RAJ has one seat on the left side of the plane and 2 on the right side. There is no overhead storage on the left side and the overhead bins on the right side are much smaller than the MD80, so you may have to do a gate check on your carry on baggage. Most airlines are using these now. They are very safe and comfortable. Go to seatguru.com and you can see the layout of both planes. I like the RJ's. I always get a lone seat on the left side of the plane.

The ERJ is definitely smaller. I am not fond of them because they are just that. They are quite bumpy during turbulence. I would rather fly on an MD-80 than an ERJ any day and I will plan my flight around an ERJ when I can.

A flirt is what we do together, knowing our thoughts are similar, a tease is when you know what I'm thinking and wave the popsicle back and forth and go "want some"?
