Hooray For That Judge In Florida, an atheist became incensed over the
preparation for Easter and Passover holidays and decided to contact the
local ACLU about the discrimination inflicted on atheists by the constant
celebrations afforded to Christians and Jews with all their holidays
while the atheists had no holiday to celebrate.

The ACLU jumped on the opportunity to once again pick up the cause of the
godless and assigned their sharpest attorneys to the case.

The case was brought before a wise judge who after listening to the long,
passionate presentation of the ACLU lawyers, promptly banged his gavel
and declared, "Case dismissed!"

The lead ACLU lawyer immediately stood and objected to the ruling and
said, "Your honor, how can you possibly dismiss this case? Surely the
Christians have Christmas, Easter and many other observances. And the
Jews--why in addition to Passover they have Yom Kippur and Hanukkah...
and yet my client and all other atheists have no such holiday!"

The judge leaned forward in his chair and simply said "Obviously your
client is too confused to know about or for that matter even celebrate the
atheists' holiday!"

The ACLU lawyer pompously said "We are aware of no such holiday for
atheists, just when might that be, your honor?"

The judge said, "Well it comes every year on exactly the same
date---April 1st!"

And that judge, were this not a silly joke, would be fired for judicial misconduct.

Federal Holidays in the United States are almost entirely secular in nature and often represent the rememberance of great men, such as presidents, veterans, workers and Martin Luther King, Jr.

Those great people fought and often died to defend the right of this country to not be a theocracy and to move towards a place where all people would be respected equally.

There are many countries in the Middle East, such as Iran and Israel, where the practice of Monotheistic worship of the Abrahamic god is the law of the land.

If you would prefer to live in such a place, in such a "peaceful paradise" as Abrahamic theocracies have shown themselves to be, you are free to move there and leave this great secular nation ALONE.

Is this a joke or a Sunday school lesson? There are tons of secular holidays (MLK, President's Day, Independence Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, etc.) that atheists participate in. Sorry. This one is lame (I'm talking Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the fifth season LAME).

How creative and funny! I haven't heard that one before! (sarcasm)

Actually, they make a bumper sticker that says April 1st is National Atheist Day. The only "fools" are the ones driving around with that tacky sticker stuck to their bumper.

EVERY day is a holiday when you're in the company of an atheist! We're just that fun to be around!

Wait a second, you're saying that atheists are all fools? Probably. see, i don't get why you would say that. That's not an atheist's holiday, we're not all fools, and even if it was and we were, what's your question?! Is this a place for religious rantings?

As far as I am concerned, Christmas is my (Atheist) Holiday. I can go practically anywhere and know that all the Christians aren't going to be there today...

If that really happened, that judge should be fired. Atheists don't need a holiday. We live everyday to its full extent. Life is a party.

there are tons. april fools day isn't really a holiday because its not a paid day!!! but how about 4th of july, presidents day, new years, labor day, thanksgiving....etc....most holidays aren't really religious. i mean easter and christmas aren't even really even that religious anymore!!...and if someone wants to celebrate thier own holidays...then they can take a vacation day!

I don't think that qualifies as a question.
I know you're all happy & want to share the story of Jesus with your brothern all thoughtout the world, but they have special message boards for that.
