Nobody can do this for you. I'm not sure why you are asking. Everyone has their own interpretation of scripture and makes their own decisions about what to accept and what not to accept. Are you still stoning adulterers and witches? If not, then why not? How did you get those 2 things to mix? I'm sure you aren't taking everything in scripture literally now...why are you stuck on this particular issue?
And by the way...can you cite where the jewish religion states that the world is 5,000 years old? I can't seem to find that.

Science and religion don't often agree. I would rather believe science, for it is stating in Facts, not faith.
Many religious people close their eyes to scientific research, carbon dating, archeology, absolute facts, which science gives to us. Since, much of the time, it conflicts with faith and their beliefs in what certain books say, they try to prove otherwise, but fail every time.
Several passages in the Quran and Bible speak against obtaining much knowledge, for it is perceived to be a dangerous thing. True! Knowledge and opening up our minds to possibilities and facts changes our view of the religious/Church world. Many of us tend to leave the churches when we learn the facts.
When I was with different churches, I would ask hard questions, for the most part, I was answered with, "You just have to have faith." And "All your questions will be answered by God when you go to be with him in heaven."
Sorry! I want answers now.

Religion has said....God created everything in 6 days and on the 7th he rested. A day for God is how long?
1 year for humans is 7 years in a dogs life.....so a day in Gods terms is how many years in man?
In otherwords, somebody will explain it away.

4,000 was the biggest number the Goatherders could imagine. So 2,000 years after that their descendants can imagine 6,000 as the biggest number possible.

There are gaps in the Bible. God has given us what he feels we need to know in order to build our faith in him. Our desire to know everything will end in our demise. Faith in God is all we need, faith in his Son and in his promises. All else is passing away, but God's word will never pass away.
