If looking for similar home climate, Vancouver is warmer in the winter (lots of rain usually). Toronto can get really freakin cold!! Vancouver has an ocean near it, mountain ranges and lots of orchards of fruit in summer. Toronto has a large Brazilian community and plenty of history. Check out both well, because they aren't close together if you aren't happy!

Depends on how long your studies are for. If they run into the winter months
Vancouvers weather would be more adaptable for you. They both offer just about the same attractions, except Vancouver has the mountains!!!
