John, you obviously have a drinking problem. That's why you have the visible blood vessels in your face. The force of vomiting is bursting them. Please cut back or quit the booze. Then your complexion will improve.

Your blood vessels burst because of the extreme pressure you put inside them when you are straining to retch. This is a common occurance and some people even pass out as a result of straining too much.
I suggest to er...prevent yourself from being sick to avoid the red look on your face. I don't know how i prevent myself from being sick but i think it's psychological. Especially when you have no reason TO be sick in the 1st place. My mind has a constant battle with itself and the one who is saying "Don't be sick" usually wins. Just be calm and tell yourself....Don't hurl!!!
If this really doesn't work, as i can see happening, then i suggest you see your Doctor who can refer you onto a psychiatrist or psychoanalyst.

Small capillaries breaking in someone's face when they throw up is NOT necessarily from having "a drinking problem." I can't believe someone wrote that and that the response actually received "Voter's Choice." I haven't touched a drop of alcohol since around 1983 and I still have broken capillaries in my face after vomiting. It does not happen often, but it does happen.

I too have this problem- apologies for the 7 year late reply.
I've tried many times to prevent them busting when I'm Ill and being sick (no I am not bulimic)
Occasionally I won but you have to breathe with it, try not to panic and and don't squeeze so hard with your stomach muscles
Hope it helps
Ps- such an inappropriate comment about having a drink problem from one of the previous commenters!

By figuring out why you vomit so much, and making it stop.
