I am going to be constructing a letter and I want to know which method will make more impact....If I write does it show that I care more by taking the time to pen the message than if I just typed it, printed it and signed it?

It's according to the recipient and point of the letter.

If it's personal, a hand written letter usually has more meaning to it.

If it is a business letter, type it without a doubt. However, if it is a more personal or friendly letter, most likely write it. Of course, depending on the situation, it may be better to type it. Such as "I'm going to divorce you." letters from a lawyer.

If it is a professional letter, it should be typed . If it's personal it should be handwritten on stationary or nice paper. Yes, it's generally considered to be more caring to actually take the time to write a personal message.

Use a word processor.. typewriters are SO last-century! But to answer the Q, I'd say for business letters print one off, for a personal letter write one (assuming your writing is legible). It's more personal, but has no spell checker so hope you stayed awake in English class ;-)

How is your hand writing? If it is a personnel letter write it. All professional letters should be typed with your signature in the bottom

If it is a formal letter, or to some organization, business, etc. type
If it is a personal note, write it

I think it also depends on your penmanship. If you have sloppy illegable handwriting then I would type it. If it's nice and people can clearly read it then I would write. Remember to always use blue or black pen.

Personal hand written shows you care.

Business should be typed-even though you may have excellent hand writing, the person that will read it may have difficulty reading it.
